The Pittsburgh Steelers were not among the teams to send a scout to a private workout held by former New York Giants and Los Angeles Rams star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., and one NFL scout gave a touching remembrance to Steelers personnel director Dick Haley, who recently died.

? NFL Network: San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy underwent successful surgery on his elbow Friday. It was the anticipated UCL repair with an internal brace. The expectation is Purdy will begin throwing in three months and build up his strength from there.

ABC Green Bay WBAY: Green Bay Packers President/CEO Mark Murphy explained why they let the New York Jets talk with Aaron Rodgers. “It’s a situation where I think we wanted to help Aaron achieve what he wanted, as well as the Packers. Hopefully it’ll create a situation where it’s a win for both sides,” Murphy said.
? On this date in 1991, Steelers legend and Hall of Famer Mike Webster announced his retirement. “He was the best center in the history of the game,” Chuck Noll said. Webster played for the Steelers from 1974-1988 before finishing his career with the Kansas City Chiefs.
