Steelers Daily Links: PFF Credits Pickett; 3 Names for Draft

Steelers QB Kenny Pickett

PFF is finally giving Kenny Pickett some credit for his rookie season and ESPN lists three names to watch for the Steelers in the draft.

Sick Podcast: Sam Manson of Pro Football Focus gave Kenny Pickett his backing as the future for the Steelers at the quarterback position, despite a low draft ranking in 2022.

“I didn’t love Kenny Pickett as a prospect,” Monson said. “Like everyone else, I think, we didn’t love last year’s draft class at quarterback at all. We talked to a lot of people in the league that say they didn’t like any of these guys. If any of them has a shot, it’s Kenny Pickett. I’m not sure I was there, but I was surprised enough by him to say, ‘OK we can work with this.’ Especially with the likes of Diontae Johnson and George Pickens. There’s things to work with there. I think he showed enough that he can be the guy. I’m more concerned with … the scheme than Pickett’s ability.”

ESPN: Draft analysis Matt Miller went on SportsCenter on Monday to talk about the Steelers’ plans for their early-round picks. Among his suggestions were Penn State cornerback Joey Porter Jr., Tennessee tackle Darnell Wright and Boston College wide receiver Zay Flowers.
