Bleacher Report named Pittsburgh Steelers Diontae Johnson and George Pickens as one of the most underrated wide receiver duos in the NFL this season.

“The first of two tandems with a second-year player, the Pittsburgh Steelers should be excited about the future of their offense,” David Kenyon of Bleacher Report wrote. “Diontae Johnson is the experienced option, one who’s averaged 85 receptions and 911.5 yards across four seasons. He didn’t score a touchdown last year, oddly enough, but is presumably due for positive regression after attracting 147 targets in 2022. The rising star, though, is George Pickens. As a rookie, he reeled in 52 passes for 801 yards and four scores with a penchant for making some jaw-dropping catches. Johnson and Pickens both have 1,000-yard upside alongside young quarterback Kenny Pickett.”

🏈 Kenny Pickett was named a fantasy football quarterback sleeper for this season by the DraftKings Network.

“Pickett balled out in the preseason, leading a scoring drive every time he was on the field. He finished a combined 13-for-15 passing for 199 yards and two touchdowns through three games. He didn’t throw any interceptions but also didn’t register any carries. Preseason results have to be taken with a grain of salt, but at the very least, it seems like there is a breath of fresh air in the offense. Pickett looked more comfortable and threaded the needle to Diontae Johnson, George Pickens and Pat Freiermuth,” Teddy Ricketson of DraftKings Network wrote.

🏈 Kenny Pickett told Kevin Dotson on Instagram he will be ready to see him in Week 7 when the Steelers play the Los Angles Rams at SoFi Stadium. Dotson said he’ll be ready. The Steelers traded Dotson to the Rams on Sunday.

🏈 Ben Roethlisberger was with Hall of Fame Buffalo Bills quarterback Jim Kelly and former Steelers running back Merril Hoge over the weekend.

🏈 Mike Tomlin will be on the Rich Eisen Show on Monday.

🎂 Happy Birthday to former Steelers wide receiver Nate Washington, born on August 28, 1983 in Toledo, Ohio. Also, Happy Birthday to former Steelers safety Russell Stuvaints, born on August 28, 1980 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania. Washington and Stuvaints both played on the Steelers’ Super Bowl XL championship team. Washington also won a ring with the Steelers in 2008. Stuvaints contributed mostly on special teams, while Washington caught 104 passes for 1,705 yards (16.4 average) and 12 touchdowns in four seasons with the Steelers. Washington signed a six-year, $27 million deal with the Tennessee Titans on March 2, 2009. He played six seasons in Tennessee before finishing his career with the Houston Texans in 2015.

🎥 Vintage NFL posted the highlights of the Steelers’ 16-7 win over the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 4 of the 2001 season. It was the first regular season game in Heinz Field’s history. It had to wait until Oct. 7 due to the 9/11 attacks. Jerome Bettis rushed for 153 yards on 23 carries, while Kordell Stewart scored the only touchdown for Pittsburgh on an 8-yard run. It was the first touchdown at Heinz Field in the regular season. Bettis also surpassed 10,000 career rushing yards in the game, becoming the 14th running back in NFL history to do so.
