Steelers Daily Links: Ravens Wanted Baker, Cam Heyward Suits Up Youth
? Joe Bucs Fan: The Baltimore Ravens tried to sign Baker Mayfield before he ended up agreeing to a deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This is the first time that the Ravens have publicly tried to do anything other than retain Lamar Jackson as their starting quarterback. They have not seemed to pursue any other quarterbacks. Tyler Huntley is in line to start if the Ravens can’t agree to a deal with Jackson.
? The Athletic: The New England Patriots are the latest team to back away from pursuit of Jackson, despite owner Robert Kraft revealing at the NFL Annual Meeting that he had learned of Jackson’s interest in playing for the Pats. The Patriots have 2021 first-round pick Mac Jones and also promising second-year passer Bailey Zappa in their fold.
? Jackson took to Twitter to defend his actions during the 2022 season, saying that he got permission from the Ravens to stop traveling with the team after its late-season trip to Pittsburgh because the flight further inflamed his swollen knee
After I traveled to the Pittsburgh game my PCL got inflated so a few of us discussed it and I got the ok to stay so I could try in recover faster.

? Steelers defensive tackle Cam Heyward had his second Suiting Up for Success event at the Grand Concourse, bringing in 36 members of his Craigs Closet program, which allows Heyward to donate dress clothes to young Pittsburgh students.
? Happy 47th birthday to former Steelers cornerback Jason Simmons, born on this day in 1976 in Inglewood, California. Simmons was the Steelers’ fifth-round pick in the 1998 NFL Draft and spent four seasons in Pittsburgh as a reliable option as a Nickel cornerback.
.@CamHeyward and @97HeywardHouse hosted the 2nd annual Suiting Up for Success Soiree, which celebrates the accomplishments of local high school seniors for their leadership, character, and ability to overcome challenges.
