? Steelers president Art Rooney II explained the NFL’s Coach Accelerator Program at the NFL Spring meetings in Minneapolis. In regards to coaching diversity, Rooney said they’re making progress on most levels but need to do better in some other areas.
? Footbahlin podcast: At one point in the interview, Ben Roethlisberger asked Kenny Pickett a football situation question. “Fourth-and-goal at the one, you running or throwing it?” Roethlisberger asked. Pickett responded confidently, “Get me on the move, I can do either.”
ESPN believes the biggest question mark with Kenny Pickett is whether he’s a franchise quarterback.
“Did you know that, over the second half of the 2022 season, Pickett went 6-2 and ranked eighth in the NFL in Total QBR? Well, I didn’t until I just looked it up,” Dan Graziano wrote. “He wasn’t particularly dazzling during this stretch — a 59.4 completion percentage and just five touchdown passes over that stretch aren’t the kinds of numbers that get them to bust out the chisels in Canton. But it would be silly to say he didn’t show progress as the season went on.”
? Happy 30th birthday to former Steelers defensive lineman Stephon Tuitt, born on May 23, 1993 in Miami, Florida. The Steelers’ second-round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, Tuitt played seven seasons in Pittsburgh before a knee injury ended his NFL career after the 2020 season.
