? Former Pittsburgh Steelers defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau is coming out with a new book called “Legendary” on July 9. The book centers around the Steelers legendary 2008 defense, the zone blitz and LeBeau’s six decades in the NFL.
Steelers Takeaways shared a passage on X from his interview with co-author George Von Benko on the new book.
“There was a truly special relationship between Ryan Clark and Troy Polamalu. Dick said the two players didn’t have to speak to one another – they would just look at each other and they knew what the other would do,” Van Benko said. “That allowed Troy to be so successful as that Swiss Army Knife type of player. Clark was willing to do that role. They didn’t have many big plays that year on defense, but they always made the big tackles and stops, and didn’t allow many big plays. Clark was a big reason for that.”
? The Seattle Seahawks honored Russell Wilson with his own retro jersey. Wilson was named to nine Pro Bowls and won a Super Bowl during his 10 years in Seattle.
