? Former Denver Broncos offensive lineman Mark Schlereth thinks Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson will start five games before he’s benched. To say the least, Schlereth is not a fan of Wilson. He’s constantly putting him on blast.
“I’m gonna say five.” Schlereth said on his podcast Stinkin Truth. “I just think that’s the way the Pittsburgh Steelers are gonna have to be built, what they’re gonna have to build themselves on is the running game and using the quarterback element in the run game.”
“Do I think they may be able to compete for a playoff spot? Yeah, but the issue is, and this is what got Russ out of Seattle and Denver, Russ isn’t willing to admit he’s not good at stuff. He’s delusional, if you’re not willing to admit it, then you can’t fix it.”
? The Baltimore Ravens are expected to re-sign quarterback Tyler Huntley, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz.
Huntley reunites with Lamar Jackson in Baltimore after being cut by the Cleveland Browns on Thursday.
Huntley has appeared in 20 games (nine starts) over the last four seasons with Baltimore. He has passed for 1,957 yards with eight touchdowns and seven interceptions, while rushing for 509 yards and three touchdowns.

? Pro Football Talk: The Baltimore Ravens’ entire starting offensive line is made up of linemen they drafted, and four of the five starters are still on their rookie contracts. Ravens General Manager Eric DeCosta attributes that to the salary cap.
“Across the board, we made the decision to start to build up the line with young players,” DeCosta said. “Unfortunately, with a salary cap league, you just can’t build a team with veterans at every position. If you could, it’d be great. I grew up a Cowboys fan, and the 1993 Dallas Cowboys, one of the great teams of all time, if that team had been able to stay together forever they would’ve won Super Bowls every year. But there is a salary cap and there is free agency. And so you have to pay players, but you also have to understand you’ve got to draft and you’ve got to develop young players as well. And we have started to do that on the offensive line. . . . We may have some hiccups along the way, but we’ve started to build from the bottom up and I think a year from now we’ll be in a great place.”
? Pro Football Talk: Next Friday, the NFL will stage Packers-Eagles in SĂŁo Paolo, Brazil. This Friday, Brazil has banned one of the most popular social-media platforms in the world, throughout the entire country.
As explained by the New York Times, Brazilian Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes ordered a nationwide ban of X, after owner Elon Musk refused to comply with a court order to suspend certain accounts.
“Free speech is the bedrock of democracy and an unelected pseudo-judge in Brazil is destroying it for political purposes,” Musk declared on Friday.
Anyone who uses a virtual private network (VPN) to access X could be fined close to $9,000 per day.
? Steelers offensive coordinator Arthur Smith looks forward to returning to Atlanta for the season opener against his former team. Smith was the Falcons head coach from 2021-2023, before being fired after this past season. He went 7-10 in each of his three seasons.
“You should be grateful, nothing is guaranteed in this league. I’m grateful for my time in Atlanta, I love those players and staff,” Smith told Dianna Russini of The Athletic. “A lot of them are still there, we brought in there. But it’s going to be about the players. Yeah they added Kirk and they drafted Michael Penix. You got new schemes, different philosophies. You look at the roster now, there is a lot of familiar faces, but there’s turnover at key positions too. So once that’s kicked off our job is to win that game, it’s not going to be a reunion or anything, it’s the league, there’s a story-line almost every week, that’s what makes the league great. I’m excited, I’m excited with this group we’ve been building here.”
