? Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens threw a pancake block on Detroit Lions cornerback Essang Bassey in Saturday’s game. Pickens is notorious for dominating cornerbacks at the line of scrimmage.

? Steelers wide receiver Dez Fitzpatrick was the highest-graded Steeler (83.0) against the Lions on Saturday, according to Pro Football Focus. Fitzpatrick had a nice 59-yard grab down the right sideline from Kyle Allen in the third quarter. Fitzpatrick’s strong performance might have earned him a spot on the 53-man roster.

? Baltimore Ravens offensive line coach Joe D’Alessandris died early Sunday morning, the team announced. He was 70. D’Alessandris was hospitalized earlier this month with an acute illness. He experienced complications from a surgery earlier this summer, according to the Ravens. D’Alessandris was in his eighth season as the Ravens offensive line coach.

? Steelers rookie center Zach Frazier made a phenomenal block on Cordarrelle Patterson’s 31-yard touchdown on Saturday. Frazier hooked Lions defensive tackle Mekhi Wingo, who was the front side 2i, to help free Patterson. Left guard Isaac Seumalo also made a nice block on linebacker Ty Summers.

? Happy Birthday to Steelers legend Donnie Shell, born on August 26, 1952, in Whitmire, South Carolina. The most notable plays from Shell’s Hall of Fame career was when he delivered a striking hit on Earl Campbell in 1978. Campbell, who fumbled on the play, left the game with a broken rib.
