? The Pro Football Hall of Fame has made several significant changes to the bylaws governing its annual selection process, but the most noteworthy change was the waiting period for Coach candidates, reduced from five seasons out of the game to just one season. Although this rule change wasn’t done specifically for him, this would allow Bill Belichick to be inducted as early as next year. Under the old rules, Belichick wouldn’t have been eligible until the Class of 2029.
Steelers All-Pro defensive tackle Cam Heyward thinks the wait period for players should be moved from five seasons to three.
? Jason McIntyre of FS1’s The Herd said the Pittsburgh Steelers should trade All-Pro outside linebacker T.J. Watt to turn around the franchise.
“You have no quarterback of the future. Neither quarterback is signed after this year. Here’s a radical idea, and sometimes you need to get radical; I think you have to put T.J. Watt on the trade walk,” McIntyre said. “And after your heads are done exploding in Pittsburgh. Why are you trading T.J. Watt? Because it’s not a defensive league. I gave you guys numbers yesterday. Every playoff game they have been to and they’ve just been smashed. They’re giving up 30, 40 points. What’s the point of being built around defense?”

? Chris “Mad Dog” Russo defended Russell Wilson on First Take over Stephen A. Smith’s recent comments, where he absolutely ripped the nine-time Pro Bowler and Super Bowl champion.
“Give the guy a chance. I can’t get a read on preseason football. I still think he (Wilson) will start Week 1. Let’s give him a clean slate. He’s probably a Hall of Famer down the road. He’s been in two super bowls. He’s won a title. He’s stayed out of trouble for the most part. Can you give him a little break Stephen A,” Russo said.
