🏈 Former Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebacker Joey Porter Sr. said on “Hard Knocks” that he won’t ever eat in Cleveland, Cincinnati, and Baltimore.
“They talk about the good crab in Baltimore. I ain’t never had it,” Porter told his son Joey Porter Jr. “Like they’re gonna spit in Joey Porter’s sandwich. They’re gonna spit in my pasta.”
Joey Porter Jr.’s mom shared that Browns fans threw hot dogs, popcorn and drinks at her when she wore her husband’s jersey to a game in Cleveland.
“I didn’t make it to halftime. I had to be escorted out of the stadium. … That was the last time I went to a divisional game,” Chrissy Porter said.
Joey Porter Sr. also brought up his pregame fight with Browns running back William Green in 2004.
To say the least, the Porters don’t like Cleveland or any team in the AFC North.
🏈 Hard Knocks also revealed that George Pickens was champing at the bit to get on the field on Sunday. Pickens was held out due to a hamstring injury.
“I wanna play so bad, boy,” Pickens said on the sideline.
🏈 On Tuesday, Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson and his wife Ciara launched their first “Why Not You Center” at the Boys & Girls Club in Pittsburgh. The Why Not You Center is dedicated to education, children’s health, and fighting poverty.
🏈 Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Darius Slay gave Tomlin high praise on the Big Play Slay podcast
“Mike Tomlin is a damn great coach. I think he’s a top-three coach ever. I know in my era, Bill Belichick, Mike Tomlin, and Andy Reid. Those are the three best coaches in my era since I’ve been playing football,” Slay said.
🏈 Steelers second-year nose tackle Keeanu Benton was the highest-graded defensive lineman (85.7) in Week 14.
🏈 Tuesday marked the 41st anniversary of Terry Bradshaw’s final play of his career, which was a 10-yard touchdown pass to Calvin Sweeney against the New York Jets. It was also the last NFL game played at Shea Stadium.
🏈 In seven games with Russell Wilson as the starter, Pittsburgh has the most explosive pass game in the NFL (25% of completions for 20+ yards), according to Dan Orlovsky of ESPN.
🏈 The Pro Football Reference player pages views revealed that Seattle Seahawks and Chicago Bears fans are still thinking about Russell Wilson and Justin Fields.
🏈 The Browns have cut wide receiver/punt returner Kadarius Toney. The move comes on the heels of his muffed punt in Sunday’s loss to the Steelers.
