? Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin was on the latest episode of The Pivot with former Steelers free safety Ryan Clark, Channing Crowder and Fred Taylor.
Tomlin gave some insight on his thought process around training camp, paving the way for other coaches in the league and how loving football has kept him at the top of the game for 20+ years.
“I just decided long ago to not be resistant to change, to not be adaptable. I never wanted to be the dinosaur. To not be resistant to growth. Growth is a lifelong thing and I want to reflect that,” Tomlin said.

? The 33rd Team ranked Steelers offensive coordinator as the fifth-best coordinator in the NFL.
“When eluding to coaches who were overwhelmed by the head coach job but thrived as a coordinator, Arthur Smith is a terrific recent example,” Ian Valentino of the 33rd Team said. “His two seasons as the Titans OC were phenomenal, producing tremendously efficient passing and rushing attacks. Smith failed to maximize all of his young playmakers in Atlanta, but his rushing games were terrific, and his biggest fault was not landing a quarterback.
“Smith is creative in the run game and has experience developing big receivers like AJ Brown and Drake London. He’ll lean heavily into play action and working the middle of the field to keep the unit on schedule and avoid short drives.”
? The San Francisco 49ers reportedly were ready to send wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk to the Cleveland Browns for Amari Cooper, a second-round pick, and a fifth-round pick, but Aiyuk didn’t approve of the deal.
