? Commissioner Roger Goodell is confident that an NFL game will be played in Ireland soon.

“I know the Steelers really wanna go there,” Goodell said at an event in the UK prior to Sunday’s Jaguars-Bears game from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. “I have no doubt that we’re gonna be playing in Ireland. I don’t know if it will be next year, but it’ll be coming soon.”

The Steelers have nine home games in 2025, so it will be interesting to see if the club gives up a home game to play in Ireland or if they”ll wait until 2027. Playing a road game in 2026 is also an option. The Rooneys have been pushing for a game in Ireland for years.

? In a fluid and unpredictable situation, Davante Adams still could wind up staying with the Las Vegas Raiders rather than being traded, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. Schefter also added that the Raiders have been and will continue talking to the New York Jets, and they also were expected to talk Saturday with the Steelers ahead of Sunday afternoon’s game between the two teams. Other teams such as the Buffalo Bills and New Orleans Saints have also checked in on Adams’ availability.

? Dianna Russini of The Athletic thinks the momentum Justin Fields has built may make it impossible for a healthy Russell Wilson to reclaim the starting quarterback position.

“It’s been made clear to me over the last few weeks that the locker room and coaching staff in Pittsburgh love Fields. So while the big question hovering over every game has been, will Mike Tomlin make the switch to Russell Wilson now? Based on my read, the momentum Fields has built may make it impossible for a healthy Wilson to reclaim that spot at the top of the depth chart,” Russini wrote.

? Justin Fields has the easiest matchup for quarterbacks this week, according to Pro Football Focus. Derrick Bell of Steelers now outlined in his Steelers-Raiders preview that Las Vegas’ defense has been absolutely dreadful this year. With Wilson now healthy, Fields will need to have an impressive outing to remain the starter.

? Steelers cornerback Joey Porter Jr. is the fourth-best cornerbacks (63.46%) at preventing separation this season, according to PFF.

? They’ll be new turf at Acrisure Stadium for next Sunday night’s Steelers-Jets game.

? Steel City Star shared a clip of John Madden discussing the Immaculate Reception on the play’s 30th anniversary in 2002. Franco Harris also had a surprise message for the legendary Raiders head coach.
