🏈 Longtime Steelers fan Snoop Dogg 100% backs the return of Mike Tomlin.

“I’ve been a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers since 1975 and I’ve only seen three coaches. I’ve seen Chuck Noll, Bill Cowher and now Mike Tomlin. With that being said, our organization isn’t like others. We don’t do all that flip flopping,” Snoop Dogg said on the Rich Eisen Show. “We’ve had terrible seasons up under Chuck Noll and up under Bill Cowher. This man hasn’t had one terrible season. It’s just a matter of the staff, if you ask me. It’s not him, it’s the staff.”

🏈 Despite having similar career records and recent success in the playoffs, Dan Orlovsky thinks Mike Tomlin overachieved and Mike McCarthy underachieved this season.

🏈 Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Linval Joseph destroyed Steelers center Mason Cole on a run play during Monday’s wild-card game. Pro Football Focus gave Cole an 8.0 grade against the Bills. Center is a huge need for the Steelers this offseason, as Cole was one of the worst centers in the league in 2023.

🏈 Steelers rookie defensive tackle Keeanu Benton is a star in the making. Mike Tomlin said during his season-ending press conference on Thursday that he had a very good exit interview with Benton: “He’s capable of being dominant sooner rather than later.” Check out Benton’s pass rush against Buffalo on Monday below.

🏈 Per Ryan Scarpino, there are 12 coaches in league history with double-digit postseason losses. Five have losing postseason records:

.278 – Marty Schottenheimer
.389 – Chuck Knox
.444 – Mike Tomlin
.455 – Bud Grant
.474 – Tony Dungy

🏈 Steelers right guard James Daniels had the lowest pressure % allowed this season by Steelers offensive lineman, according to PFF. Steelers left guard Isaac Seumalo wasn’t far behind at 4.8%. The Steelers guard play was solid, but they need better pass protection from their tackles.

James Daniels – 4.3%
Isaac Seumalo – 4.8%
Mason Cole – 6.5%
Broderick Jones – 8.2%
Dan Moore Jr. – 10.2%

🎂 Happy Birthday to former Steelers quarterback Terry Hanratty, born on January 19, 1948 in Butler, Pennsylvania. Hanratty was selected by the Steelers out of Notre Dame in the second round of the 1969 NFL Draft. He was the starting quarterback for a short time before losing the job to the Steelers’ No. 1 1970 overall draft pick Terry Bradshaw. Hanratty played for the Steelers from 1969-1975 before finishing his career in Tampa Bay in 1976.

🎥 NFL historian Kevin Gallagher posted a video of L.C. Greenwood’s four sacks in Super Bowl X. He is the only player to collect more than three sacks in a Super Bowl. Greenwood’s five career Super Bowl sacks remain the most ever.
