? Former Pittsburgh Steelers free safety Ryan Clark told TMZ Sports that Mike Tomlin needs to officially name Justin Fields the starting quarterback ASAP.

“I loved the fact that every week I knew we were going to line up with Ben Roethlisberger and if he threw an interception and if it went bad that he was our guy and we were sticking with him,” Clark said.

“Having that indecision and not necessarily knowing that it’s going to be Justin Fields the rest of the season or it could be Russell Wilson, that’s a little difficult.”

? Steelers linebacker Elandon Roberts told Donny Football of 93.7 The Fan that teams do not use Pro Football Focus’ grades at all.

“Teams use that? I’ve played for three teams – I’ve never once had a coach or analytics person show me any grade or score (chuckles),” Roberts said.

? Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh does not believe safety Derwin James should have faced a one-game suspension for his hit on Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth.

“There was not a defenseless player, changed his course, and I thought that Derwin’s helmet was stiff armed by Mr. Freiermuth,” Harbaugh said. “I thought that caused his head to make the contact, and I thought the contact was first with the forearm, then the shoulder, then the head.”

? The Steelers’ 11 explosive plays of 15+ yards this season is tied with Cleveland for last in the league.

? Justin Fields revealed on Cam Heyward’s Not Just Football podcast that the Baltimore Ravens, Los Angeles Chargers and Las Vegas Raiders expressed interest in trading for him in the offseason. He wanted to go to a stable organization and a place where there wasn’t a solidified quarterback, though.

? WPXI: Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh will be among four NFL stadiums designated by FEMA as a “Mission Ready Venue” to be possibly used as an emergency shelter.

FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell and NFL Chief Security Officer Cathy Lanier announced Wednesday that through “Mission Ready Venues,” a public-private partnership, the home of the Pittsburgh Steelers could be used for response and recovery missions during declared emergencies or disasters.

“Stadiums are valuable community assets that are often used in times of disasters,” Lanier said. “This designation reflects the role that many stadiums play, not only on Sundays, but especially in times of need. We are proud to work with FEMA and first responders at the local and state level to ensure disaster response agencies have the information and tools they need to help a community recover when disaster strikes.”

? Steelers tight end Darnell Washington revealed that he was fined $6,000 for an illegal crack back block in Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers. He’s appealing the fine.
