PITTSBURGH — Terrell Edmunds was a surprise addition to the Pittsburgh Steelers injury report for Wednesday. Edmunds did not practice in the team’s first official practice session of Week 10 as it readies to visit the Washington Commanders this Sunday. But Edmunds is not injured.
The veteran Steelers defensive back was instead listed as a non-participant in Wednesday’s practice with an illness. Edmunds has been serving as the team’s punt gunner and Dime defender since re-joining the franchise one week into the 2024 season.
It’s unclear what ailment Edmunds is suffering from or what his prognosis might be. Cam Sutton, who is returning this week from an eight-week suspension for domestic violence, is a strong candidate to replace Edmunds in the Steelers’ Dime defense. The club has several options at punt gunner, including wide receivers Scotty Miller and Ben Skowronek.
