PITTSBURGH — Steelers defenisve lineman Chris Wormley suffered a left knee injury and had to be helped off the field against the Ravens after an incomplete pass from Anthony Brown. He is out for the rest of the game.

After the play, Wormley immediately crunched to the ground and grabbed at his knee. Larry Ogunjobi and Tyson Alualu helped Wormley off and Wormley was not putting any weight on the leg. He then was taken onto a crate and carted off the field into the locker room.

The Steelers replaced Wormley with DeMarvin Leal, who got a sack. Prior to the injury, Wormley was enjoying a strong game, with a forced fumble and a sack on the day. Isaiahh Loudermilk is active, and that can only help the Steelers as they have their full cache of defensive lineman to use on the day with Wormley unlikely to return to the game.

It has been a game that has seen multiple injuries, including to both quarterbacks in Kenny Pickett and Tyler Huntley.  Chris Wormley experienced friendly fire on the play and the entire defensive line huddled around him. In the Ravens-Steelers rivalry, physical play and injuries unfortunately happen.

The Steelers defense has surrendered over six yards per carry. Wormley’s loss will not help with any of the run defense issues.
