Steelers DL Stephon Tuitt Out for Game with Pectoral Injury
Steelers defensive lineman Stephon Tuitt is out for the rest of his team’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday night with a pectoral injury, the team announced at halftime.
Tuitt was injured in the first quarter of the game and was originally listed as questionable to return before being declared out at the half. He was replaced by Tyson Alualu.
Through five games, Tuitt has been having a career year. He has 3.5 sacks, six tackles for loss, six quarterback hits and 22 total tackles. His career high in sacks is 6.5 and career high in tackles for loss is eight, both set in 2015.
With fellow backup Isaiah Buggs not dressed, the Steelers are down to four healthy defensive linemen: starters Cam Heyward and Javon Hargrave, Alualu and backup nose tackle Dan McCullers.
