Steelers DL Tyson Alualu Injures Knee vs. Baltimore, Return Doubtful

BALTIMORE — Steelers defensive lineman Tyson Alualu suffered a knee injury in the first quarter of the team’s game against the Baltimore Ravens and is doubtful to return, the team announced.

Alulau spent three years as a reserve defensive end before moving to nose tackle this offseason and assuming the starting role.

In six games, he made four starts and had 16 tackles, one sack, three tackles for loss, three quarterback hits and defended three passes.

He was replaced in the Steelers’ lineup by second-year lineman Isaiah Buggs. Backup nose tackle Chris Wormley injured his knee in the Steelers’ Week 7 win over the Tennessee Titans and was placed on injured reserve this week.

The Steelers’ only other backup defensive lineman dressed against Baltimore is second-year backup Henry Mondeaux.
