Locked On: Should Steelers Have Done More to Keep Brian Flores?
The tenure of Brian Flores with the Pittsburgh Steelers turned out to be a short one, as the team’s senior defensive assistant and linebackers coach from the 2022 season has taken a job as the Minnesota Vikings’ defensive coordinator.
Flores was also up for several head coaching positions, including the Arizona Cardinals job, which he was still in the running for when he backed out to take the Vikings DC position.
It seemed likely that no matter where he ended up specifically, that Flores was going to find another home after one season with the Steelers. Did the club make a mistake by not doing more to keep him around? Was there more that Art Rooney II and Mike Tomlin could have done?
Steelers Now editor Alan Saunders joined Chris Carter of the Locked On Steelers podcast to break down Flores moving on and what it means for the Steelers going forward.
