Kenny Pickett went to Twitter to tout Jordan Addison while the Steelers draft plans could be altered by a Bears trade at the top of the draft.
The two have been subject to speculation that they could reunite in Pittsburgh. However, with a lack of pressing need at receiver it’s seemed unlikely. Still, that won’t stop the former teammates from supporting one another on their NFL quests.
He is not the only top player sitting out, but Carter is expected to be Top-5 draft pick in this year’s class, and could be the first defensive player off the board.
At the HBCU Combine, Farmer ran 4.72 40-yard dash, a 38-inch vertical, 9-foot-10 broad jump, and spoke with 14 teams, including Pittsburgh.
“The franchise’s new mission is to build around—and protect—quarterback Kenny Pickett,” Kenyon wrote. “If the Steelers have a chance to select any of Skoronski, Paris Johnson Jr. or Broderick Jones, they should be sprinting to the podium. Jones is a powerful blocker who can develop into a cornerstone for Pittsburgh’s offensive line.”
That makes plenty of sense, as Jones is a stout player with plenty of power behind his frame. If Pittsburgh could land him, they’d be lucky to do so
?: According to Adam Schefter, the Bears are looking to move off the No. 1 overall draft pick. With no apparent need at quarterback thanks the belief in Justin Fields, they will instead look to recoup picks and instead reload on the defensive side of the football. That could affect the Steelers draft plans if the right team moves up to the spot and gives the Bears an extra pick before No. 17 overall.
