Alabama quarterback and potential Pittsburgh Steelers 2025 NFL Draft target Jalen Milroe has reportedly accepted an invite to attend the first round of the draft in person in Green Bay.

According to a report by Dane Brugler of The Athletic, Milroe has received and accepted an invite to attend the first round of the draft later this month.

That’s unexpected for a number of reasons. First, the NFL has been expected to cut down the number of in-person draft attendees this season, with Jordan Schultz of FOX reporting in February that only 8-10 players will be invited.

Milroe is currently the No. 45 prospect on the NFL Mock Draft Database consensus big board, meaning he is not expected to be taken in the first round.

The Steelers have shown significant interest in Milroe, sending general manager Omar Khan, head coach Mike Tomlin, offensive coordinator Arthur Smith and quarterbacks coach Tom Arth to his pro day in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

The Steelers also met with Milroe at the 2025 Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama in January. Milroe struggled in that setting, but performed better at the 2025 NFL Combine.

The obvious interest from Pittsburgh is interesting, because the Steelers do not currently have a second-round pick, where Milroe has been consistently chosen in mock drafts.

Could the Black and Gold be the reason the Bama passer is headed to the draft to be taken in the first round?

FOX analyst Colin Cowherd suggested the Steelers could take Milroe in the first round back in March.

“I’m told the Steelers really like Jalen Milroe, 21st pick, first round,” Cowherd said. “So if Aaron [Rodgers] signs with Pittsburgh, it’s going to become Kirk Cousins. They’re taking a quarterback. If the 21st pick, Milroe’s not taken, Pittsburgh is leaning now and taking him.”

If not the Steelers, the Los Angeles Rams could make some sense as a late-first-round landing spot for Milroe at No. 26, or the Cleveland Browns or New York Giants could look to trade back into the first round if they pass on a quarterback at No. 2 and 3 overall in the first round.
