Derrick’s Dudes & Duds: Jaylen Warren Excels, Kenny Pickett off the Mark
The Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the Green Bay Packers 23-19 in typically thrilling fashion in a game that came right down to the literal wire. It wasn’t perfect nor pretty, but it rarely is for this group. But they have somehow found a way to get to 6-3 with a legitimate shot to win the division given the outcome of the other games on today’s slate. A win is a win however you get it. Let’s take a look at some guys who played a crucial role in the outcome of this one.
Dude(s)- Jaylen Warren & Najee Harris
In case you haven’t noticed, Pittsburgh’s ground game has been trending upward over the past month. The offensive line deserves their flowers but the 1-2 punch in the backfield is providing this unit with a clear identity. The running backs combining for 183 yards on 31 carries is seriously impressive regardless of the opponent. They ran it down the Packers’ throats at will all day long and even provided a couple explosives to boot. The Steelers have gone to more of a gun run and diverse approach and it has paid dividends recently.
