PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers are plenty banged up, with about seven or eight players expected to miss the team’s Week 6 game with the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday due to injury, but don’t worry about the health of tight end Pat Freiermuth.
Freiermuth told Steelers Now after practice on Friday that he’s good to go and will be playing this Sunday when the team takes on the Raiders at Allegiant Stadium.
Freiermuth was listed as limited in Thursday’s practice with a calf injury, but said he absence was purely precautional.
The third-year tight end has been one of the Steelers’ most important offensive playmakers in the early part of the 2024 season. Freiermuth is second on the team in receptions (20), yards (178) and leads the team with two touchdown receptions.
Veteran tight end MyCole Pruitt also appears to be nearing a return. He’s been out since injuring his right knee against the Denver Broncos but participated in practice all three days this week and does not seem far from a return.
