PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers got good news on an injured member of their regular defensive rotation on Saturday, as defensive tackle Montravius Adams was upgraded from questionable to no injury designation for the team’s Week 7 game against the New York Jets on Sunday Night Football.
Adams was a late-week addition to the injury report when he suffered a knee injury on Friday in practice, and he was originally ruled as questionable to suit up against New York, but after Saturday’s walkthrough, he appears good to go.
Adams is the team’s No. 4 defensive lineman behind starters Cam Heyward, Larry Ogunjobi and Keeanu Benton, and is the primary backup at both nose tackle in base defense and defensive tackle in sub packages. Dean Lowry and Isaiahh Loudermilk are the other two backup defensive linemen on the 53-man roster, while DeMarvin Leal is out for the season with a neck injury.
