The Pittsburgh Steelers are hosting Louisville quarterback Tyler Shough for a pre-draft visit at UPMC Rooney Sports Complex on Thursday.

Shough, 25, is one of the oldest prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft class. He has seen his draft stock rise after a strong performance at the Senior Bowl, where he met with the Steelers once previously. Shough is currently projected as a third-round pick on the NFL Mock Draft Database consensus big board.

Shough got his collegiate career started way back in 2018 at Oregon. Shough redshirted his freshman season at Oregon and played sparingly as a backup in 2019. He was supposed to take over for Justin Herbert in 2020, but lost the starting job to Anthony Brown by the end of the season.

Shough then entered the transfer portal and ended up at Texas Tech. He played four games before breaking his collarbone. Shough re-gained the starting job in 2022, but played just seven games due to a shoulder injury. In 2023, he again played four games before an ankle injury and broken fibula against West Virginia again ended his season prematurely.

The 6-foot-4 7/8, 219-pound quarterback performed well in testing at the NFL Combine, running a 4.63-second 40-yard dash and posted a 9-foot-9 broad jump. He recorded a 9.53 Relative Athletic Score out of 10.

The Steelers are able to host 30 visitors between now and the 2025 NFL Draft. Shough was joined on Thursday by Ole Miss nose tackle J.J. Pegues and West Virginia guard/tackle Wyatt Milum, the first day of visitors. Milum will not count against the team’s 30 visit.
