PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers are hosting Oregon nose tackle Jamaree Caldwell for a pre-draft visit at UPMC Rooney Sports Complex on Friday.

Caldwell is a run-stuffing defensive lineman that won’t cost high draft capital to land. He currently ranks as the No. 134 overall player on the NFL Mock Draft Database consensus big board.

That puts him right between the Steelers’ fourth-round pick (No. 123) and fifth-round pick (No. 156) in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Pittsburgh needs to address defensive line early in the draft with Cameron Heyward turning 36 in May and the release of Larry Ogunjobi this offseason. But the team could also choose to double dip later on and Caldwell could be right in the range it’d be looking to do just that.

In 2024, the 6-foot-2, 332-pound nose tackle had 29 tackles (16 solo), one forced fumble and three passes defensed at Oregon.

Before transferring to Oregon in 2024, Caldwell spent two years at Houston, where he had 38 tackles (28 solo) and 8.5 sacks.

Caldwell also tested well at the NFL Scouting Combine, running a 5.16-second 40-yard dash and recording a 27-inch vertical jump.

In addition to Caldwell, Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart, South Carolina safety Nick Emmanwori and Iowa State wide receiver Jaylin Noel  all visited the South Side on Friday.
