Steelers ILB Devin Bush Injured Foot vs. Patriots
PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Steelers inside linebacker Devin Bush Jr. was not able to finish the team’s Week 2 loss to the New England Patriots after suffering a foot injury.
Bush was taken to the medical tent on the Pittsburgh sideline during the final defensive drive and then taken to the Steelers’ locker room. Head coach Mike Tomlin said after the game only that Bush was being evaluated and did not have a further update on his status.
Robert Spillane replaced Bush in the team’s base and Nickel defenses alongside Myles Jack. Spillane regularly plays only as the Dime linebacker.

Before his injury, Bush made four tackles. Spillane had six and Jack finished with 13. The Steelers struggled throughout the game to stop the Patriots rushing attack, conceding over four yards per carry to Damien Harris and Rhamondre Stevenson.
The Steelers have a short week, as they will play the Cleveland Browns on the road on Thursday Night Football, so it may be difficult for Bush to get a full week of practice in.
If Bush cannot play against the Browns, sixth-round rookie Mark Robinson would likely draw into the lineup after being scratched in each of the first two games. Veteran backup Marcus Allen has played exclusively special teams.
