Pittsburgh Steelers inside linebacker Marcus Allen suffered an apparently serious left biceps injury at the end of the team’s Week 16 win over the Las Vegas Raiders.
Allen was injured while making a tackle on the final kickoff of the game, following George Pickens’ go-ahead touchdown catch in the final minute of the fourth quarter.
Head coach Mike Tomlin said after the game only that Allen had suffered a biceps injury, but Allen posted on social media photos and videos of him in a hospital bed on Monday.
The fifth-year safety-turned-linebacker from Penn State recently made headlines for taking an ill-advised penalty in the Steelers’ Week 15 win over the Carolina Panthers.

On the season, Allen has 12 tackles, all on special teams. He has not played any defense, but appears in approximately 60% of Pittsburgh’s special teams snaps.
Sixth-round rookie Mark Robinson will likely dress as an active player, assuming that Allen will not be able to suit up this Sunday night against the Baltimore Ravens. Robinson has been active for three games and got his first playing time on defense in Carolina.
Other than Allen, the only other Steelers player to suffer a noteworthy injury against the Raiders was backup safety Tre Norwood, who left the game early and did not return with a hamstring injury.
Starting safety Terrell Edmunds did not play with a hamstring injury, and inside linebacker Myles Jack played limited reps in returning from a groin injury.
