PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers should have a relatively injury free squad as they enter the week of practice ahead of the team’s Week 8 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, but their two big injured stars are still a ways off.

Inside linebacker Cole Holcomb was the only Steelers player to suffer an injury in the Week 7 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. He may be limited early in the week with his right ankle injury, but should be expected to play on Sunday.

He also said that running back Anthony McFarland (knee) will “continue to get a look” as he attempts to return from the injured reserve list. The team still has a slot on the active roster open.

Tight end Pat Freiermuth must miss the next three games as he deals with the aggravation of a hamstring injury.

Defensive tackle Cam Heyward is eligible to be reinstated from the injured reserve list this week as he recovers from core muscle surgery, but Tomlin said he has “no update” on his progress.
