Steelers Injury Updates: Ben Roethlisberger Limited by Right Shoulder Injury

Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has added a right shoulder injury to the list of ailments that have been bothering him.

Roethlisberger was limited in practice on Friday for the second straight day, though he doesn’t usually fully participate in the first practice session of the week. The right shoulder issue was added to the injury report on Friday. He has also been bothered by a hip and left pec injuries.

Mason Rudolph would be in line to start on Monday if Roethlisberger cannot.

Additionally, offensive lineman B.J. Finney missed practice on Friday after being limited on Thursday, and is trending the wrong direction for being ably to play when then team hosts the Chicago Bears on Monday night.

Finney has a back injury and would likely need to practice on Saturday in order to dress on Monday. The team has been dressing Finney, J.C. Hassenauer and Joe Haeg as backup linemen with Zach Banner as a healthy scratch the last two games.

Tight end Eric Ebron saw his status improve, practicing on a limited basis after missing Thursday’s session with the hamstring injury that kept him out of Sunday’s win in Cleveland.

Kicker Chris Boswell, who has been in the NFL concussion protocol since being injured in that game, was a full participant in Friday’s practice.

Defensive lineman Cam Heyward fully participated after being limited with an ankle injury on Thursday.

The team’s final injury report will be released after Saturday’s practice.
