PITTSBURGH — Steelers left guard Kevin Dotson has left his team’s game against the Detroit Lions on Sunday with a right ankle injury and will not return, the club announced.

Dotson was injured in the second quarter against the Lions and limped off the field. After being evaluated on the Pittsburgh bench, he was helped to a cart, apparently unable to put any weight on his right leg.

The Steelers announced that Dotson will not return with an ankle injury.

He was replaced on the field by J.C. Hassenauer. The Steelers have just one backup interior lineman dressed, with B.J. Finney scratched. Tackle Joe Haeg can play guard in an emergency situation.
