Steelers Injury Updates: Alex Highsmith, T.J. Watt Set to Start vs. Packers
The Steelers’ pass rush is healthy.
Both starting outside linebackers, Alex Highsmith and T.J. Watt, are good to go for Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers after missing the team’s Week 3 game against the Cincinnati Bengals with groin injuries.
Highsmith was limited in practice on Wednesday and Thursday, but was a full participant on Friday. Watt was limited on Wednesday, but was full go the rest of the week.
Watt said he was close to playing in Week 3, but felt the need to be cautious with an injury like a groin, where it can linger if not given the proper time to heal.
The Steelers are still without defensive end Stephon Tuitt (knee) and defensive tackle Tyson Alualu (ankle), who are on the injured reserve list with no timetable for their returns.
Backup nose tackle Carlos Davis (knee) will miss his third straight week as well. He did not practice this entire week.
Isaiah Buggs will once again fill in at nose tackle, which Chris Wormley playing end in the base defense. Wormley and Cam Heyward will start at tackle in the Nickel alignment. Isaiahh Loudermilk and Henry Mondeaux will provide depth.
