Steelers Injury Updates: Cam Sutton Out With Hamstring Injury
Steelers cornerback Cam Sutton did not practice on Wednesday with a hamstring injury, a new injury that popped up and could be the cause for concern heading into the week against the Baltimore Ravens.
Sutton dealt with a hamstring injury earlier in the season, but his absence against the Ravens could be significant with some of the speed that the Ravens possess at wide receiver. However, cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon was designated to return from injured reserve with his hamstring injury, so it appears that the Steelers could be expecting some reinforcements in case Cam Sutton is out.
Meanwhile, Diontae Johnson was limited with a toe injury. Johnson played against the Las Vegas Raiders while nursing the turf toe ailment. It appears that he likely will play again with the injury still bothering him at times. However, it should be no cause for concern.
Six Steelers in Najee Harris, Cam Heyward, Terrell Edmunds, Larry Ogunjobi, Myles Jack, and Pat Freiermuth did not practice due to personal reasons. All six attended Franco Harris’ funeral on Wednesday afternoon. Each player is expected to participate in practice in some capacity over the course of the week and likely play on Sunday against the Ravens.
