Steelers Injury Updates: Chase Claypool Leaves Practice with Apparent Leg Injury

PITTSBURGH — Steelers wide receiver Chase Claypool suffered an apparent left leg injury in the waning moments of Tuesday’s practice.

Claypool went up to make a jumping catch on the sideline from Dwayne Haskins during the final team period of practice. He caught the ball and attempted to make a toe-tap along the sideline, but fell out of bounds and did not get up.

After team trainers attended to Claypool, Eric Ebron and Ben Roethlisberger helped Claypool down the stairs toward the Steelers’ locker room.

Head coach Mike Tomlin said after practice that Claypool was being evaluated and did not have an update on his prognosis.

Claypool, the team’s top draft pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, had 62 catches for 873 yards and 11 total touchdowns last season and appeared to be set to be one of the team’s three starting wide receivers in 2021.
