PITTSBURGH — Defensive lineman Chris Wormley missed Wednesday’s practice with a groin injury, the Pittsburgh Steelers announced.

Wormley suffered the injury late in the Steelers’ 19-13 win over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.

The Steelers have been playing all season without starting defensive end Stephon Tuitt, who Wormley replaced in the starting lineup. They’ve also spent most of the year without starting nose tackle Tyson Alualu and backup Carlos Davis.

He was replaced by a combination of Isaiahh Loudermilk and Henry Mondeaux. Mondeaux started as nose tackle with the Steelers missing Isaiah Buggs, who was out with an ankle injury, and Montravius Adams Sr. on the COVID-19 list.

The Steelers started the game with just five healthy defensive linemen, and finished it with only four. Buggs, however, appears to be on track for a return. He was a full participant in practice on Wednesday.

Daniel Archibong and Khalil Davis are candidates for a practice squad recall if the Steelers are still short bodies heading into the weekend.
