Steelers Injury Updates: Kenny Pickett Limited, Najee Harris Returns
Kenny Pickett practiced again on Thursday in a limited fashion as he moves along in the NFL’s concussion protocol. He practiced on Wednesday in a limited capacity, meaning that Friday will likely be the deciding factor on if Pickett can play against the Panthers or not. If Kenny Pickett can not play, the ongoing quarterback battle between Mitch Trubisky and Mason Rudolph will have even more relevance.
Meanwhile, Najee Harris returned to practice in full capacity after missing Wednesday’s practice with a hip ailment. Cam Sutton joined Harris by fully participating after he was limited on Wednesday with a stinger.
However, there was plenty of bad news. Pat Freiermuth (Foot), Larry Ogunjobi (Toe), and Myles Jack (Groin) all missed another day of practice while recovering from their injuries. Friday will determine their status for Sunday against the Panthers.
Diontae Johnson (Hip) and Josh Jackson (Ankle) were added to the injury report on Thursday. If Johnson can not play, it will be Steven Sims, Miles Boykin, and Gunner Olszewski seeing more time. Both did not practice on the day after both fully practiced on Wednesday. Johnson dealt with the hip injury last week after suffering the injury against the Atlanta Falcons. Cam Heyward took his usual veteran rest day on Thursday.
