The Steelers lost to the Miami Dolphins 16-10, and they did not come out of the game unscathed on the injury front. Cornerback Levi Wallace suffered a shoulder injury while attempting to make a diving interception.
Mike Tomlin did not name any other injuries as part of the list. As of now, the injury to Wallace is still being evaluated, and Tomlin has no definitive idea how bad the injury could be at this juncture.
“From an injury perspective, Levi Wallace has a shoulder injury that is being evaluated,” Tomlin said. “I don’t have a lot of information on it.”
The Steelers secondary is still banged up with Ahkello Witherspoon working back from his hamstring injury. With Wallace’s injury, it will mean more snaps for James Pierre yet again, who stepped up in a big way against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Pittsburgh’s secondary has played well aside from dropped interceptions over the past few weeks. However, the injuries are still taking a toll on a defense without its star T.J. Watt, as well.
Regardless, Wallace’s injury is just one of many in a long line of them in the defensive back room to this point. Cam Sutton, James Pierre, Terrell Edmunds, Minkah Fitzpatrick, Arthur Maulet, Witherspoon, and Wallace previously, have all been banged up at various points throughout the season.
