Steelers Injury Updates: Najee Harris, Kevin Dotson Return

UNITY TWP., Pa — Najee Harris returned to the practice field on Monday for the first time in over two weeks after he suffered a foot injury at practice. He took part in the team run drills and worked through all individual drills. With Najee Harris returning, one of the Steelers’ key players in back.

In addition, Kevin Dotson (ankle) returned to practice for the first time since suffering the injury a week ago. Kendrick Green (left hand) briefly left practice but returned.

Genard Avery (groin) was a near full participant for the Steelers. That includes the team run period with Avery blew up multiple runs. Avery is now ready to compete with the rest of the outside linebackers.

Also returning to full participation was Pat Freiermuth (hamstring) and Zach Gentry (undisclosed). The Steelers now are fully healthy at tight end for the first time since the start of training camp.

Ahkello Witherspoon (shoulder) and Damontae Kazee (undisclosed) left the game on Saturday against the Seahawks but were full participants on Monday. As such, the Steelers defensive back room is healthier. Karl Joseph (foot) was not seen at practice.

Meanwhile, Chaz Green (undisclosed) did not practice after suffering an injury in the game on Saturday. It is unknown what the injury was, but Green’s leg was in a sleeve. Benny Snell (knee) and Derek Watt (shoulder) both did not practice yet again. In their place, Jaylen Warren and Master Teague continued to get the bulk of the reps.

Anthony Miller (shoulder) and Calvin Austin (foot) did not practice on Monday, either. The Steelers lines were a bit thin at wide receiver as a result. It opened up opportunities for Tyler Vaughns and Steven Sims. Miles Boykin (ribs) left practice early and did not return. He is listed as day-to-day.

Alex Highsmith (ribs) and Marcus Allen (hamstring) still did not practice after missing last week. Allen has not practiced for the past two weeks.
