Steelers Injury Updates: NT Carlos Davis Remains Out; Bush, Sutton, Washington Set to Play
PITTSBURGH — Nose tackle Carlos Davis will miss his fifth straight game when the Steelers host the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday Night Football this week, but he is the only player that might’ve been able to suit up in Black and Gold that won’t.
Wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster, who is out for the season with a right shoulder injury, was also officially listed as out on the team’s injury report. He is expected to be placed on the injured reserve list at some point in the near future.
Davis was injured in the team’s Week 1 win at Buffalo and hasn’t played since, though he was a limited participant in practice all three days this week and seems to be making progress toward a return. Isaiah Buggs will once again spell him at nose tackle.
Inside linebacker Devin Bush Jr. (groin), wide receiver Chase Claypool (hamstring), cornerback Cam Sutton (groin), wide receiver James Washington (groin) are all expected to play.
Bush left the team’s Week 5 win over the Denver Broncos, but was a full participant in practice all this week. Sutton was, as well, after missing the Denver game. Washington also didn’t play against the Broncos and was limited on Wednesday and Thursday, but was full go on Friday.
Claypool was limited on Wednesday and Thursday and he dealt with a hamstring injury that caused him to miss the Green Bay trip in Week 4. He played against Denver despite being limited the week of practice.
