PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers suffered two major injuries in Thursday’s 20-16 prime-time win over the Tennessee Titans, head coach Mike Tomlin said after the victory.
Tomlin detailed two injuries after the game, saying that inside linebacker Cole Holcomb suffered a serious knee injury. He also said that nose tackle Montravius Adams has an ankle injury.
“To what degree, I don’t know,” Tomlin said.
Adams suffered a right ankle injury in the first half and was first listed as questionable to return, but after halftime, he was downgraded to out.
Adams started his eight straight game at nose tackle on Thursday. He was replaced by rookie Keeanu Benton after leaving with injury.
The Steelers also got three players back from injury. Defensive tackle Cam Heyward returned to the starting lineup after missing six games following core muscle surgery. Cornerback Levi Wallace returned after missing one game with a foot injury, and quarterback Kenny Pickett was back in action after leaving before halftime last week. Pickett said that he was not limited by the injury.
