Steelers Injury Updates: TE Eric Ebron Out, K Chris Boswell to Play vs. Bears

Eric Ebron

Steelers tight end Eric Ebron will miss his second consecutive game with a hamstring injury this Monday against the Chicago Bears.

Ebron suffered a hamstring injury after the Steelers came out of their bye and missed the Week 8 game against the Cleveland Browns. He missed the team’s Thursday and Saturday practice sessions this week and was limited on Friday.

Once again, rookie Pat Freiermuth and third-year backup Zach Gentry should be expected to see increased roles. The Steelers dressed just two tight ends against Cleveland, but could activate Kevin Rader from their practice squad if they want a third.

Backup offensive lineman B.J. Finney is questionable with a back injury. He was limited in practice on Saturday and Thursday and missed Friday’s session. Finney, who plays center and guard, has dressed as a backup in every game this season. Tackle Zach Banner has been the team’s scratched lineman the last two games.

Kicker Chris Boswell, who left last week’s game with a concussion, was a full participant on Friday and Saturday and will play.
