Steelers Injury Updates: Three Expected to Be Limited This Week

The Pittsburgh Steelers will hope to get three players back from injury this week for their must-win game against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 17, but all are expected to be limited at the start of the week.

Head coach Mike Tomlin did not express a lot of optimism about a potential return for quarterback Kenny Pickett, who is again expected to be limited in practice this week. Mason Rudolph is in line to make his second consecutive start.

At free safety, Minkah Fitzpatrick is also expected to be limited this week as he attempts to return from a left knee injury suffered against the Indianapolis Colts. Fitzpatrick did not practice at all last week, and it seems more likely than not that he will miss at least one more week.

There is more optimism for strong safety Trenton Thompson, who retuned to finish the game against the Colts after suffering a neck stinger, but he did not practice at all last week. He is also expected to be limited at the early portion of this week.

Tomlin did not update the status of strong safety Keanu Neal, who has been eligible to return from the injured reserve list for the last two weeks, but has yet to return to practice with a rib injury.
