Steelers Make Multiple Practice Squad Moves
The Pittsburgh Steelers sit at 4-2 tied for first in the AFC North. After registering a 32-13 victory over the Raiders in Las Vegas, the Steelers will begin their preparations for the New York Jets. Once again, the Steelers will host on Sunday Night Football in Acrisure Stadium. Ahead of this matchup, the Steelers announced few roster moves including practice squad transactions.
First, the Steelers signed wide receiver Lance McCutcheon to the practice squad. Ironically, McCutcheon has spent the past two seasons on the Steelers’ upcoming opponents practice squad. Prior to his time with the Jets, he entered the league in 2022 as an undrafted free agent out of Montana State; signing with the Los Angeles Rams. He spent part of the 2023 season on the Houston Texans practice squad as well.
In a corresponding move, the Steelers released Jaray Jenkins from the practice squad. Jenkins, an undrafted free agent in 2023 out of LSU, spent his rookie season on the Jacksonville Jaguars practice squad. He was signed to Pittsburgh’s 90-man offseason roster in June. He was released during roster cuts before being brought back to the practice squad.
