Welcome to Steelers Morning Rush, our new daily short-form podcast with Alan Saunders, giving a longer perspective on a single news topic surrounding the Pittsburgh Steelers or the National Football League. Today, it’s the play of veteran Steelers defensive tackle Cam Heyward
The Pittsburgh Steelers defense has been dominant, allowing just 26 points through three games this season, and only six with no touchdowns in three second halves.
The stars of the show like T.J. Watt have obviously contributed, but one of the most underrated contributions has come from Cam Heyward.
After an offseason where Heyward had half the fanbase screaming he was over-paid, old No. 97 has been a dominant force on the defensive, absolutely wrecking shop against three consecutive rushing attacks and providing quality pass rush, as well.
Alan also broke down some other underrated contributors to Pittsburgh’s early defensive success. Check it out.
