Five NFL Draft Prospects to Watch in College Football Title Game (+)

Steelers draft QB Michael Penix Jr.

As the Pittsburgh Steelers approach the end of the regular season, the college football world is preparing the National Championship game between the Washington Huskies and the Michigan Wolverines. The college football playoffs already gave us two incredible semifinal games that came down to the wire. Just as you’d expect, both of these clubs feature of a plethora of talented NFL Draft prospects. Consider this both a viewing guide and brief scouting report on a handful of players that are worth keeping eye on when the game kicks off on Monday night.

QB Michael Penix (Washington)

Since transferring to Washington prior to the 2022 season, Michael Penix has evolved into one of the most prolific passers in college football. His 430-yard, two touchdown performance against Texas in the semis was a perfect showcase of his skill set. With an unorthodox left-handed throwing motion, he has the ability to generate easy velocity with the flick of his wrist but the most enticing part of his game is his ability to throw with touch to deep parts of the field. He’s a javelin thrower with an ever-aggressive mindset to push the ball vertically.

From a Steelers perspective, there are currently more questions than answers in regards to the future of the quarterback position.
