The Pittsburgh Steelers have opened as 1.5-point favorites on the road this week against the Tennessee Titans, according to odds released Sunday.
Both teams are 3-0 this season. The Steelers beat the Houston Texans on Sunday and also own wins over the Denver Broncos and at the New York Giants. The Titans also own a trio of narrow victories, winning at the Denver Broncos and Minnesota Vikings and at home against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Steelers are 2-1 against the spread, covering a 3.5-point line against the Texans and also covering against the Giants, but failing to cover six points in a five-point win over Denver.
Tennessee is 0-3 against the spread. They beat Minnesota, 31-30, while favored by two, beat the Jaguars by three while favored by seven and the Broncos by two while favored by 3.5.
The point total of Sunday’s game, which will kick off at 1 p.m. at Nissan Stadium, is 47.5.
The Steelers have won two straight games against the Titans and five of the last seven, with recent wins at Heinz Field in 2017 (40-17) and in Tennessee in 2014 (27-24). The Titans’ last win in the series was a 16-9 victory at Heinz Field in 2013.
Pittsburgh has not started its season with three straight wins since beating Atlanta, Tennessee and Tampa Bay to start the 2010 season. The Steelers finished that year with 12-4 record, winning the AFC North and falling to the Green Bay Packers in Super Bowl XLV.
The Steelers are 3-0 to start a season for the first time since 2010. They have not won four straight games to begin a year since they won the first four games of the 1979 season.
