Steelers Open as Week 1 Underdogs to 49ers
The Pittsburgh Steelers have opened up three-point home underdogs to the San Francisco 49ers for their season opener at Acrisure Stadium on Sept. 10, according to odds posted by DraftKings Sportsbook.

The Steelers are opening the 2023 season at home for the first time since 2014, but the oddsmakers say it’s likely to be an unhappy beginning for the Steelers with the AFC West champions coming to Pittsburgh to start the year.
But the Steelers were big winners against the spread in 2022, posting a 10-6-1 mark against the Vegas line. At home, they were 4-3-1 against the spread last season. As an underdog, the Steelers were 6-4-1 for bettors. They won outright five times out of the 11 times they were underdogs.
The Niners were even better against the spread in 2022, posting a 13-7 mark, and 13-5 as favorites.
The Steelers and 49ers have alternated victories in their last six games, with Jimmy Garoppolo out-dueling Mason Rudolph at Levi’s Stadium, 24-20 in 2019. The Steelers won the last matchup at Heinz Field, a 43-18 win in 2015. Pittsburgh has won the last two games in Pittsburgh, and both at the current stadium. The 49ers’ last victory in Pittsburgh came back in 1996. The 49ers lead the all-time series, 12-10.
