The Steelers have placed center/guard B.J. Finney on the injured reserve list, the team announced on Wednesday.

Finney was injured very early in the team’s Week 13 game against the Baltimore Ravens and did not return. He also missed the team’s Week 14 game at Minnesota with the back injury.

By rule, Finney must spend at least three weeks on injured reserve. He could return for the team’s Week 18 finale at Baltimore. Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin has not given an update on his prognosis.

Finney started against the Ravens with left guard Kevin Dotson and center/guard J.C. Hassenauer on the injured reserve list and guard/tackle Joe Haeg on the COVID-19 reserve list. Haeg returned to the active roster this week and Hassenauer is expected to return to practice.

John Leglue started the last two games at left guard for the Steelers, their fifth different player to man the position. Rashaad Coward also played some after being recalled from the practice squad.

Finney is in his second stint with the Steelers, re-signing with the team on a one-year deal after spending a year away split between the Seattle Seahawks and Cincinnati Bengals. He originally signed with the team in 2015.
