Steelers Place WR JuJu Smith-Schuster on Injured Reserve

The Pittsburgh Steelers have placed wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster on the injured reserve list, the team announced on Saturday.

Smith-Schuster suffered a right shoulder injury in the team’s win over the Denver Broncos on Sunday and had surgery on Wednesday. By rule, Smith-Schuster must spend at least three weeks on the injured reserve list, though his injury is expected to be season-ending.

If that’s the case, Smith-Schuster will finish his season with 15 catches on 28 targets or 129 yards. He also rushed three times for nine yards and a touchdown.

The Steelers waited until Saturday to make a move to replace Smith-Schuster on the active roster, deciding to promote right tackle Zach Banner from the injured reserve list for Sunday’s game against the Seattle Seahawks.
