Steelers Practice Report: Cam Sutton Returns, Offense Causing Problems
Pittsburgh Steelers Practice Report: Cam Sutton returns to the Steelers after his arrest. Arthur Smith's offense is causing problems.
PITTSBURGH — Another day, and another returning Cam at UPMC Rooney Sports Complex on the South Side on Wednesday, as newly signed cornerback Cam Sutton was back in action for the Pittsburgh Steelers, and Alan Saunders and Nick Farabaugh of Steelers Now were there to break it down.
On the field, the fit is a seamless transition. Sutton said the Steelers want him to play in the slot, inboard of Joey Porter Jr. and Donte Jackson, and that’s a position that he had a ton of success in during his first six years in Pittsburgh.
Off the field, the reason Sutton that is available is the elephant in the room, as he was released by the Detroit Lions after he was arrested on domestic assault charges. Sutton addressed his arrest and the narrative surrounding his offseason in conversations with Nick.
Elsewhere, Alan caught up with Elandon Roberts to talk about how Arthur Smith’s offense is making it hard on the defense by varying tempo and using different kinds of motions and shifts to stress communications and keep defenses simple.
Additionally, Quez Watkins talked to Alan about his growing deep-ball connection with Russell Wilson.
All that and more in today’s Pittsburgh Steelers Practice Report.
